Welcome to the Swim Aran web site! We are a small group of swimmers who have taken on the challenge of swimming from Inis Oírr Island (the most easterly Aran Island) to Doolin, Co. Clare on the 21st of August 2010. All in the name of charity. This year we will be raising money for a new national neurosurgery unit for 0 to 6 year olds at Temple St. Children’s University Hospital, where one of our swimmer’s children have been successfully treated in the past.
From Inis Oírr to Doolin the distance is approximately 10 kms. However the swimmers can expect to cover up to 2 or 3 kms more than this. We will relish the challenge given the worthy cause. Please help us raise as much as possible.
